Booker T Jones on Tiny Desk!!

Man, oh man! This is an awesome treat. For those who don’t know who Booker T. Jones is, you may not realize it but you’ve heard his tunes everywhere. “Jones is synonymous with the Hammond B3. At 17, he recorded the instrument’s anthem, Green Onions, with his band Booker T & The MG’s.” Great, great stuff!!

I’ve been looking for the title of Green Onions for the better part of 15 years so I was ecstatic to see him start the set with it. You can see the video here. Enjoy!

So one of my classmates at Animation Mentor, Lewis Moronta, shared this with everyone. I was so moved that I had to post it on my blog. The artist’s name is Ryan Woodard, and he is fantastic. The animation is as unbelievable as the style and story. Enjoy!!

New Job, New Diggs, and Holy Krakatoa!!

Its been a while since I posted, and a lot has happened. I just got hired about a week ago at a kool outfit in Soho called Anatomical Travelogue, part of The Visual MD. They do awesome work, and I’m über excited to work with 3D Studio Max again. I think I will be more on the technical side this go around—and doing more VFX work with Particle Flow, which is exciting!! Check out this Tutorial on the subject. Enjoy!!

My Class 4 Mentor is Steve Cunningham–a great guy from Dreamworks–and he has been emailing us Disney shorts for inspiration and to learn how the pros did it. Here’s a classic from the Disney collection. Enjoy!
